Introduction
Swapping different bootable USBs drives is frustrating. There are options like PINN or NOOBS which can be used to avoid the change but they are not so easy to set up and, just in these cases, they were intended to be used with a Raspberry Pi. However, Ventoy is an easy-to-use application that allows you to swap the boot process and access different OS from the same USB drive.
To have Ventoy ready on a USB stick, you need to complete a few steps.
Ventoy installation and operation
Ventoy is compatible with Windows, Linux, and even a PXE installation over the network. It includes a concise and clear explanation of how to install it. In short:
- Download ventoy according to your OS by visiting the following website: Ventoy downloads.
- Prepare the USB stick to be used with ventoy. You should follow this guide: Getting started.
- Once the USB stick is ready, copy the ISO images directly into the main folder of the USB drive:
. - Booting from this USB drive will display a menu that will allow us to choose which operating system to boot.
